Pin Up Girl Clothing: Dixiefried Glamour Girl Dress Review

If you love vintage fashion and vintage inspired designs you must have heard of Pin Up Girl Clothing. The brand was created in 1996 by Laura Byrnes, and is assisted in design by the infamous vintage girl Micheline Pitt. Based in California, with their fabulous tag line, "Couture for Every Body" Pin Up Girl Clothing offers sizes in every design from size SX to 4X.

I have recently had the opportunity to wear and photograph my first dress from Pin Up Girl Clothing, the Dixiefried Glamour Girl Dress in Black Lurex Bengaline. I was really excited and curious to finally get to work with the line in person. If you love vintage clothing, you are used to really great fabrics and construction. I am often so disappointed in modern pieces from stores that I rarely buy anything made new. This is not because its not vintage, they just dont make them like they used to. For me, Pin Up Girl did not disappoint. Having a fresh new dress that is very well made, fits perfectly and looks great has been, well, a breath of fresh.

So, how was the dress? First of all, I am obsessed with Lurex at the moment. I love a little sparkle. The fabric is luxurious feeling and looking. The hint of sparkle makes a black dress so much more interesting and glamorous. I love the detail at the bust. The crisscross makes for a really great shape and reminds me of the 40s, although the wiggle dress shape is over all more 50s. The zipper is really good and the straps are adjustable. It is sexy but chic and I could wear it to any number of occasions. I was so pleasantly surprised at how nice the dress was. I am definitely keeping it as my go to black dress.
